many however, that is not the case. In Mecklenburg County, more than
half of all students are economically disadvantaged and many of those
students will show up empty handed on the first day of school in August.
In honor of 30 successful years of business in the Charlotte area,
Showmars, a local favorite, is partnering with WSOC TV for the 16th
annual School Tools Campaign.
School Tools is the largest school supply drive in the area helping
thousands of local kids receive the school supplies they desperately
need to start a productive year at school. The campaign runs for the
entire month of August. Last year alone School Tools helped gather
more than 472,000 school supplies for local students in more than 20
counties.
A School Tools barrel is located at each of the 28 Showmars
restaurants. School supplies including pens, pencils, glue sticks,
markers and book bags are gladly accepted. Donations can be delivered
to any store and dropped into the barrel. Monetary donations can also
