Charlotte Area Celebrates America Recycles Day Uptown Nov. 15

On Tuesday, November 15 from 10am to 2pm, the City of Charlotte and
Mecklenburg County are partnering with Charlotte Center City Partners
to celebrate America Recycles Day in Uptown. Charlotte will be one of
many communities across the country participating in recycling
education events held on the only nationally recognized day dedicated
to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States.

Event participants include City and County Solid Waste Services
Departments, the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS), Keep
Mecklenburg Beautiful, Keep Charlotte Beautiful, Goodwill Industries,
ProShred, and the North Carolina Department of Justice. Participants
will distribute educational materials highlighting the numerous waste
reduction efforts of different organizations in the Uptown area as
well as giveaways for attendees.

Citizens are encouraged to bring any personal electronic devices or
documents to the event for safe disposal. Goodwill Industries will be
collecting computer components and other electronics and ProShred will
be providing free document shredding. Please visit www.goodwillsp.org/donate/computers
for a complete list of applicable electronics. All donations are
free of charge.
