RIF and US Airways to Celebrate Reading with Charlotte Families Oct. 5

Reading Is Fundamental and US Airways have partnered to host a reading
celebration for more than 300 local families, including US Airways
employees at Druid Hills Elementary School Oct. 5. Volunteers from
the US Airways Do Crew will help guide attendees through several fun
and exciting literacy-themed stations. Each child will also get to
choose a book to own from a special RIF book distribution.
This event is a part of the "Fly with US. Read with Kids.®" campaign,
the national campaign to raise awareness of the importance of
children's literacy. In September, RIF and US Airways launched the
Read with Kids Challenge to encourage families to log the amount of
minutes they spend reading with kids at www.rif.org/readwithkids. The
goal of this year's campaign is 10 million minutes read to kids
between September 1 – October 31.
WHEN: Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: Druid Hills Elementary, 2801 Lucena Street, Charlotte, NC 28206
